Job Description
POSITION GOAL:  To assist with financial activities of Hospice of Southern Illinois, Inc. including supervision of billing and accounts receivable, budget variance and account analysis, monthly close and annual responsibilities assisting with audit and budget.

Full-Time Salaried Position.

Position Requirements
  1. Education
    1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
  2. Experience
    1. Three (3) years in financial management preferred. Healthcare financial management a plus.
    2. Three (3) years of progressive responsibilities within the accounting/finance area required.
    3. Familiarity with healthcare billing preferred.
  3. Other Qualifications
    1. Computer literacy including advanced proficiency of Microsoft Office and Excel, as well as database and accounting computer applications.
    2. Excellent communication, organizational, and human relation skills.
    3. Excellent analytical skills.
    4. Experience in team-building.
    5. Self-motivated and able to make independent decisions.
  4. Technical Competencies
    1. Creates a positive work environment that encourages collaboration.
    2. Assist in the supervision of accounting department personnel.
    3. Able to identify process improvement and provide suggestions to streamline functions through technology.
    4. Oversee billing process to ensure timeliness of receivables.
    5. Assists with account analysis, reconciliations and budget variance explanations.
    6. Assists with accuracy and integrity of financial records.
    7. Ensures timeliness and accuracy of the submission of Medicare and Medicaid Notices of Election.
    8. Attend committee meetings as assigned by the Finance Manager.
    9. Function according to the mission, philosophy, goals and objectives of the organization.
    10. Comply with HSI policies and procedures.
    11. Coordinates Hospice of Southern Illinois contracted managed care services.
    12. Adhere to the practice of confidentiality regarding patients, families, and employees.
    13. Accurate timesheet documentation.
    14. Performs other duties as assigned.
