Who We Are:
Specialized Living Center is a nonprofit organization that serves adults with developmental disabilities. With 4 residential homes on one 12 acre campus, it is currently home to 58 residents. We are a long term care facility (ICF/DD) that provides our residents with life skill training and personal care in a family setting. Our nursing department is staffed with LPN's on a 24 hour basis.

Summary of Duties:
  • Develops, maintains, and implements nursing policies and procedures that conform to current standards of nursing practice, facility philosophy, and operational policies while maintaining compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Communicates and interprets policies and procedures to nursing staff, and monitors staff practices and implementation.
  • Participates in all admission decisions, and may visit prospective residents before admission.
  • Participates in management team meetings to discuss resident status, census changes, personnel, or complaints or concerns. In addition, participates as a member of SLC's Leadership Team.
  • Responsible for hiring of nursing staff.
Oversees and evaluates the work performance of nursing personnel and implements discipline according to policies.
  • Ensures delivery of compassionate quality care and nursing supervision as evidenced by adequate services and nursing staff coverage, prevention of pressure wounds, and apparent maintenance of optimal resident functions.
  • Collaborates with physicians and consultants to improve the quality of services and to resolve identified problems.
  • Coordinates nursing services with all other departments.
  • Orders medical supplies for the facility.

  • Current Licensed Registered Nurse (required)
  • Two (2) or more years of related experience desired
  • Knowledge of public health survey processes/regulations, Medicaid and ICF/DD residential care facilities a plus.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job and to meet its functional and environmental requirements.
