Event Description:

We are SO excited to announce that it is not only time for the Illinois Center For Autism’s Pedal for Autism annual event, but wait until you hear about the plans for this year!

This year’s event is now the Pedal for Autism Family Fun-Fest! This event will include our annual bike ride with a rolling start from 7am-9am at SWIC in Belleville with two trail options. Then, beginning at 10am until 1pm the Family Fun-Fest comes alive with bounce house, food trucks and booths, face-painting, and much more!

Your support is crucial to the continuance and growth of our services to some of the most vulnerable in our communities. Already faced with immeasurable challenges our students/clients and their families are definitely in need of continued assistance.

Did you know…

~it can cost a family raising a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) 3-4 times more than raising a child without the diagnosis?
~that nearly 50% of those diagnosed with ASD are considered non-verbal?
~a recent study found that those with high-functioning autism are 6 times more likely to have thoughts of suicide?
~Children with ASD are often fascinated by water, however drowning is the leading cause of death for children with ASD.
~More than 66% of adults with ASD are unemployed.

These are just a few of the reasons that ICA works so diligently to provide resources, collaborate with our community and governmental agencies, and ask for your support. Together, we can help those living with ASD and their families live life without so many hurdles.
